01
Application and selection
Submit one application for the event through your own account. Provide accurate profile information and relevant answers. Saving a draft does not submit it. Selection is conducted by authorized people; submitting an application does not guarantee selection or attendance.
Review your answers before final submission. Submitted answers, posters and acceptance records cannot be edited by applicants. Contact the organizers about a necessary correction or withdrawal; do not create duplicate accounts or applications. Decisions and further instructions are communicated through the platform and event communications.
02
No financial assistance — plan your travel and return
Participation in IndabaX Burundi 2026 does not include financial assistance for transportation, accommodation, hotel expenses, return travel, daily allowances or personal expenses.
Participants are responsible for arranging and financing these expenses themselves unless the organizers explicitly confirm an exception in writing.
Submitting an application or being selected does not create an entitlement to financial support.
This rule applies particularly to applicants travelling from provinces outside Bujumbura. Plan and finance both the outward and return journeys and any accommodation before participating. Organizers are not responsible for return-transport money or reimbursement. No funding or reimbursement is promised by this application.
03

The use of AI-generated responses is prohibited.
Applicants are free to respond in Kirundi, French or English. English proficiency is not required for selection.
Generic, copied, fabricated or AI-generated answers may result in rejection or disqualification when a violation is established through review.
Applicants should express their own motivation, experiences, interests and learning goals.
Any suspected violation must be assessed through a documented human review. AI-content detectors do not establish a violation and must not trigger automatic rejection.
04
Poster/research presentation
Track A applicants selecting Poster/research presentation or Both must upload their poster as a PDF of at most 10 MB before submitting. Hackathon-only applicants and those not selecting a poster presentation do not need this upload. Describe your work accurately and upload material you are entitled to share.
A saved draft retains its poster. You may replace/remove it while your draft is editable. Changing your participation choice changes whether an upload is required and does not delete the stored file. If you select poster presentation again, a valid poster is required. The review step shows the stored filename and upload status.
The poster is private within the application workflow, available to you and, after submission, authorized event organizers/administrators and assigned reviewers. Submission does not itself publish the poster. Do not upload unnecessary sensitive information or confidential material without permission.
05
Participation and respectful conduct
State your availability honestly, choose the track that fits your interests and follow the organizers’ communicated participation and conduct instructions. Respect other participants and their work. An application or selection does not establish an employment, funding or reimbursement arrangement.
06
Privacy acknowledgment and acceptance record
Before submitting, read these terms and the Privacy Policy and explicitly confirm each one. Neither confirmation is preselected. The platform stores the applicable policy versions and acceptance timestamps with the application. The Privacy Policy explains collected data, uploads, authorized use, storage and retention; policy acknowledgment does not grant unrelated marketing consent.
